Hotel Salvator Prague Review

Last year, on my visit to Prague, I stayed at the Hotel Salvator.

This traditional hotel offers ample space and a central location at a great price. It might just be what you're looking for if you're considering a trip to the Czech Capital.

Details of Stay

I stayed at the Hotel Salvator for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) in September 2022. I was travelling with my family so we stayed in a suite, which cost £270 for the entire stay.

Location

One of the great things about the Hotel Salvator is its location.

The hotel is on a side street just off Náměstí Republiky Square. The square is a 10-minute walk to the Old Town, where you will find the Týn Church, Astronomical Clock and Jewish Quarter. It is also just a 15-minute walk from the Charles Bridge.

If you are heading further afield, Náměstí Republiky has a metro station connected to the yellow line. There are also several tram lines running through the square and the Number 15 Tram takes you to the bottom of Petřín Hill and a 5-minute walk away from Prague Castle.

Despite being close to the Old Town centre, the hotel is pretty quiet at night, which is an added bonus.

Hotel Facilities

The Hotel Salvator has a traditional style, with an inner courtyard open to the elements and iron balconies adorned with fresh flowers on all floors.

There is a 24-hour reception and all the staff were really friendly during my stay.

Top tip if you stay here: contact the hotel before your visit to arrange a transfer from the airport.

I had read some questionable reviews about taxis in Prague, so I was pleased to see that the Salvator offered private transfers directly from Prague airport to the hotel. We arranged both pickup and drop off back at the airport and the journeys cost 25-30 euros each.

There is also an Argentinian steakhouse at the hotel, La Boca, which is open from 8am to 10pm every day. We didn't eat here, but it looked very nice, and it's certainly good to have a restaurant at your hotel.

To get to your room, there is one lift just off the reception area as well as a staircase.

The Room

The room was a nice surprise. I didn't realise we had booked a suite until I walked in and saw the size of the room.

The suite sleeps up to 6 adults and has two bedrooms (each with one double and one single bed) and a shared bathroom.

Each bedroom was very spacious. One had a table and chairs as well as a small sofa and the other had a dressing table, fridge and TV. The toilet was in a separate room to the rest of the bathroom, which had a bath/shower.

This is easily the biggest room I have stayed in on a city break. The beds were really comfortable and I had two great nights of sleep.

As you can see, the décor is more on the traditional side, but I liked the quirky little paintings on the wall and the quaint feel to the whole place.

My Review

I was very impressed by my experience at the Hotel Salvator in Prague.

The room were spacious and comfortable, the staff were lovely and the location was perfect for exploring the city. And all of that for a great price too.

If you're looking for a modern city hotel, this place isn't for you. But I personally really enjoyed my stay here and found it refreshing to stay somewhere with a bit of character.

All in all, the Hotel Salvator is a great choice for your city break to Prague.
